Rounding a decimal means writing it with fewer digits after the point while staying as close to the real value as we can. Keep the digits up to the place you are rounding to, then look at the very next digit: five or more rounds up, four or less it stays the same. This lesson works through three examples — including the case where a nine carries and you have to keep the trailing zeros, so 4.196 to two decimal places is 4.20, not 4.2.
