Multiplying and dividing with negatives comes down to a single question: how many minus signs are there? An even number of them cancel out and the answer is positive. An odd number leaves one behind and the answer is negative. That one test covers every question on this sheet, whether it is a multiplication or a division.
What is on the sheet
It opens on multiplying with different signs, then multiplying with matching signs, so the pattern appears before it is named. Division follows, using the same rule, which is the point: pupils often expect division to need a rule of its own. Then a mixed set where multiplication and division sit together, and a stretch with three factors, where counting the minus signs is faster than working left to right. Two worded questions close it.
