KS3 Algebra Whole-Topic Test Paper with Mark Scheme
A whole-topic KS3 algebra assessment for Years 7–9, pulling expressions, equations, sequences and graphs into one paper. 26 questions (59 marks) graded from easy to hard, with a full plain-English mark scheme. Print-ready A4 PDF, 13 pages.
This is a whole-topic KS3 paper — it pulls the entire algebra strand into one longer assessment for Years 7 to 9. 26 questions (59 marks) build gently from easier to harder, with the hardest grouped into a stretch section at the end.
Subtopics covered
This is a whole-topic paper — it brings several subtopics together in one sitting, so you can check the whole foundation at once:
- Expressions & simplifying
- Solving equations
- Sequences
- Graphs & coordinates
What's covered
Four areas of algebra in one longer paper. Expressions: collecting like terms, expanding single and double brackets, substitution, and expanding then simplifying. Equations: one- and two-step equations, brackets, unknowns on both sides, a fractional term, forming an equation from words, and an angles problem. Sequences: term-to-term rules, a matchstick pattern, the nth term, testing whether a number is a term, and finding the first term past 100. Graphs and coordinates: all four quadrants, midpoints, gradient and y-intercept, a table of values, reading a conversion graph, and the equation of a line through two points.
What's included
- A cover page with space for name, class and date
- 26 questions worth 59 marks, graded from easier to harder, finishing with a short stretch section
- Ruled working space under every question, because method marks matter
- A complete mark scheme written in plain English — the working is shown for every multi-step answer, so you can mark with confidence even if maths is a distant memory
The mark scheme starts on its own page, so you can print the test without the answers. One print-ready A4 PDF, 13 pages — it prints cleanly on ordinary A4 at home.
